Mollywood megastar Mammootty achieved significant success with the experimental film "Bramayugam", a horror thriller that grossed around 60 crores despite lacking commercial elements. Now, he returns with an action thriller titled "Turbo". Unlike "Bramayugam", "Turbo" received mixed reviews.
Despite this, the film has performed well at the box office, grossing about 57 crores worldwide so far, with the potential to surpass "Bramayugam." If it had received more positive reviews, it might have reached the 100 crore mark, but that milestone now seems unlikely.
Directed by Vysakh, "Turbo" features renowned Kannada actor Raj B Shetty as the antagonist, with Telugu comedian Sunil in a pivotal role. The cast also includes Anjana Jayaprakash, Sabareesh Varma, Dileesh Pothan, and Bindu Panicker in significant roles.
